This and the Carbon Block Filter were purchased together to drop into an old Omni dual filter housing that was installed many years ago under the kitchen sink. My wife has allergies to the chemicals that are found in our tap water and, like a coal mine canary, lets me know if the filter is working or when it needs to be replaced. Over the past year or so we have tried other brands of cartridges but she would have allergy symptoms and was forced to drink only certain brands of bottled water. However, we have been using this Multi Stage PLUS Filter Cartridge for over a month and my wife is allergy symptom free. She is now able to drink this filtered water instead of bottled water which makes us both very happy. We will be monitoring her symptoms to see when we will need to change out the filter. I hope it lasts as long as advertised.

Note that while the Carbon Block Filter dropped right into the Omni filter housing, the Multi Stage PLUS Filter was a tight fit and had to be pressed into place. I worried that pressing in the filter might crack the cartridge but that did not happen. This is probably only an issue with this older housing, but it still works great.
