I bought this water filtering system in early 2011 and really liked it because it worked so quickly and the water tasted fine. After a few months I needed more filters and ordered them on Amazon in November 2011 and they cost $18 for 6 filters (2 packs of 3). Today I installed the last of those 6 and went online to order more. They now cost $38 for a pack of three! The cost per filter has more than quadrupled. I really do not understand how they can justify this kind of price increase. This is just plain price gouging. I intend to find another type of filter from a company who doesnt try to gouge me.

Nubo 57-1432 Reusable Filter Water Bottle Review

I wanted a bottle to improve the taste of the tapwater at work for drinking at my desk. I bought the Nubo, Hydros and Oko bottles. Of the three, the Nubo was the best.

The Oko is quite heavy (top heavy, in fact, because the bottle itself is thin plastic but the filter is heavy) and not particularly attractive. It improved the flavor of the water nicely, but it requires squeezing or sucking fairly hard to get the water. Maybe the heavy-duty filter is better for when the water contains harmful bacteria, but for desk drinking it's not the one.

The Hydros bottle is nicer looking, although the product I received was different from the product pictured on the website and in the video. You don't screw the top on after filling the way the video makes it look - you have to palm it on while preventing the rest of the top apparatus from turning, which is difficult and fussy. The side-fill doesn't work great - it needs to be on a particular angle to flow quickly enough to not have to stop and start. The flow while filling has to be quite slow even when filling from the top. The taste of the water was least improved of all three. The lid doesn't seal very well - you could not throw the bottle in a bag and be confident it won't leak. I like the social welfare mission of the company but the bottle's just okay.

The Nubo is a bit less attractive than the Hydros but more attractive than the Oko. It has the quickest fill and the most improved taste. Both caps screw on securely and haven't leaked yet. It's easy to fill and easy to drink from. Also the least expensive of the three. Highly recommended!

iSpring RCB4T 400GPD Light Commercial Tankless Reverse Osmosis RO Water Filter, 1-Pack Review

I purchased this unit recently to supply RO water for my hydroponic system. As I only have around 40lbs of pressure iin the water lines, the built in booster pump works like a charm. I'm easily able to make the 50-60 gals/day of RO water that is required. System is built well, easily installed, and the pump runs so quiet, hardly hear it.

Would highly recommend this unit, for under $800, nothing better!

Have run this unit for over 6 months now, have made 1,000's of gallons of RO water. Because I use more then most, I change filters much more often. I must say this is the BEST RO unit I've used to date. The booster pump makes this a far superior unit.

Doulton UltraCarb Ceramic Water Filter OBE (Open Both Ends) Review

I've been using this filter for 15 years but didn't realize how good it was until I got to my current property and had well water with huge amounts of iron, arsenic and iron bacteria. The water coming directly from the well smells like rotten eggs and is undrinkable. My neighbor spent over $2500+ on filters that didn't work and had to buy bottled water. After hearing that, I didn't have high expectations that the ultracarb would make much of a difference(especially since I'm very sensitive and can taste and smell things that other people cannot) but tried it anyway, since I'd had such a good experience in the past. I was really amazed at the difference. The water tastes clean and fresh, has no bad smell whatsoever and virtually eliminated the arsenic and iron in the water!!I do have to clean the filter every 2 weeks or so, which takes under 5 minutes, because the iron bacteria creates so much slime that it clogs the filter eventually, but then it's like new. And the filter can be cleaned 60 times before it needs to be replaced!! Really amazing!! Hope this review will be helpful to other's who have similar issues and need an inexpensive way to get really good quality drinking water.Just another note, remember to get housing that's bpa free(doulton is bpa free but so are many others available thru amazon) If you want more detailed info on the doulton filters, Dianne at Doulton Canada (1-800-439-1671) and Max at Doulton USA (1-888-664-3336) have been very helpful. Camco 40645 RV TastePURE RV & Marine Water Filter Review

It filters the water really good and removes the chlorine odor which is really what I was after. The water comes out pure and doesn't smell at all. However, there are two things you need to know about this filter.

First, according to the instructions on the filter, you need to allow water to flow through it for a short time to clear the carbon lines. I hooked up the hose to one end and turned the water part way on to let the water flow out the other open end of the filter, and for about two seconds the water was pure black, which was the carbon coming out upon first use. After about a minute I turned the faucet all the way on and it flowed black for another two seconds. After that, it's been clean and pure ever since. If you don't let water run for a few minutes at first to flush out the loose carbon and just connect the filter without flushing it, you're going to have carbon inside your system.

Second, according to the instructions on the filter, it says do not freeze. Well, if you hook this to the outside of an RV and it's winter time, I'm not sure you you can avoid this.

But it is a good filter that works great and I will buy more of them.
