As the Joni Mitchell song goes: "Don't it always seem to go/that you don't know what you got till it's gone...." There are certain things you expect to miss when you leave the area you've spent your life in thus far; then there are those you could have never fathomed. Having decent tasting water out of the tap was never an issue, and a quick run through a Brita filter made it more than adequate. So how was I to know that the place I now call home would have water that would taste like it had dirt in it, while simultaneously smelling like cat pee? It was quite the predicament, as the Brita was no match for the "river water" and I'm too much of a "hippie" to justify buying bottled water and wasting all that plastic. I had known about filters you could hook up "under-the-sink" but didn't realize they made ones like this, that are effectively the same but require less installation. Since I rent I wasn't about to go and do any permanent plumbing work, so I found this filter and decided to give it a try. Turns out the WaterChef C7000 was the answer to my H2O ailment, and then some! Instillation was a snap, it looks great on my counter top and doesn't get in the way (even the hose), and best of all the water tastes great! I am so happy with this purchase and grateful that it was able to completely remedy a situation in my life that really had me bummed.
