FX12P clone filter maker Matrikx is a company run (kxtech.com) by Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway. Normally I would buy the GE direct product but in this case I did save 50% with this filter clone and it is from Berkshire Hathaway a strong USA based quality firm. Confirm what say at www.kxtech.com which is the company manufacturing the Matrikx filter. Note: The 3rd extra horizontally mounted membrane filter isn't needed for 2 years. Wash your hands with anti-bacterial soap before changing the FX12P Matrikx clone and put a teaspoon of bleach in filters and run system for 10 minutes to flush bleach out as germs get in closed system when opened up to air during filter change. Per manual.. this bleach step is mandatory. Per GE Reverse Osmosis smart water system manual.. the horizontal membrane doesn't need changing for 2 years vs. 6 months for the FX12P filters so don't let the bundled package including Membrane suck you in to spending too much.
