I purchased this pump recently and it works okay. It's not great but not horrible either. One thing to note is that you really do have to follow the enclosed directions which tell you to immerse the head of the tube in boiling water (for a minute or so) to soften it so that it can be fully attached ("with force"!) to the columnar bottom cover joint. If you don't do this the tube will leak and not draw water properly.

I refill my gallon jugs at Walmart filling station with R.O. water for $ .27/gallon but had found it to be too acid on account of the minerals having been removed by this purification process. This item is fine, but does not include any provision for mounting. I ordered 3 of these filter housings. They are a strong, easy to see through plastic that should give me years of use, but since they do not come with any kind of mounting bracket, I had to go to water anywhere's website and order 3 brackets, which cost me $5.50 each (a somewhat fair price for a piece of metal which may or may not include the screws) but then I was charged another $5.32 for EACH one for the shipping. When I wrote to them, they called me and said they were looking into the shipping charges to be sure they were reasonable. They wrote me back saying "We calculated the freight cost to ship from us in Vista, CA 92081 to you and the going rate is $16.76 for UPS Ground. We only charged you $15.96 and we feel this is a fair price." Well for me to ship the same 3 pound box to Vista, CA using my UPS account would be 9.77 and I don't even get a corporate discount as they do. A lady also called me and reminded me that I had agreed to the shipping fees during the order process and that's just too bad. So I say to anyone looking to use these water filters, beware, you may be better off going to the local Home Depot or Lowe's and getting a generic filter housing for $19 plus tax.
