The instructions are very hard to understand but once you figure it out, it installs very easy. It does include a filter. I purchased one when I ordered this because the description was not clear as to whether it included a filter. The tightening wrench is the best cause you are going to need it to loosen the case to take the paper off the new filter and to tighten it once you put the filter back in. Tighten it!!! And once you have it hooked up and you are ready to test it, put the entire unit in the sink so that if there are any leaks, they wont wet the counter up. I didnt need the extra parts to attach it to the faucet. It was easy to attach once I figured out that the clamp could loosen more than I thought. Make sure to tighten the clamp over the rubber gasket once you fit it onto the faucet. So far there are no leaks. Great price and the water tastes great. Love the fact that it is not in the way when Im trying to wash dishes. Also the water sprays out at an angle so I would always turn it on over the sink. Great purchase.

The product works very well, the problem is the setup and instructions:

1. Badly written instructions, the owner manual and the quick start guide is different, these instructions should have been written and tested on someone with a better grasp of american english. I have spent a lot of time with people, where english was their second language, and they could write a lot better than what is in this manual. They start off by telling you the steps you need to follow, starting with step 1, and then in sub text they describe the complete process, then in step 2 they repeat the steps from the begining of step one, making you think that you missed some previous instruction.
2. The filter setup is not even addressed in the entire owner manual, they assume you know how to set it up, if you do not attach the filter cover before you start cleaning or use the water cooler for the first time, you will have a lot of water spilling into the inside of the cooler, this is done by pulling down the filter assembly and screwing on the water filter cover, if you want to use filter water you must uncrew the cover first then install the filter, then screw the cover back together then screw this assembly into the filter housing, then push it back into the vertical position.
3. The manual does not tell you what specific type of filter to use, it is implied in the order decription that you can use a brita pitcher filter, and you should change it every 90 days or 15 bottles of water, the problem with this statement is that all single brita filters must be changed every 60 days or 40 gallons of water, there are no 90 days (single filter) brita filters.
I gave this water cooler 3 stars which is a stretch, I wanted to be fair, this is a good watercooler, but the instructions take away from the quality and performance of the unit. I would recommend that the maker of this unit rewrite the manual, and discuss filter setup and use in a filtering based watercooler.

I ordered 2 filters inserts as replacements for my Culligan RVF-10 filter. I expected to see the same blue Culligan filters as I have used in the past. These were a different generic brand. Don't have the package here. It's in our motorhome. I assume the filters will work fine, but when I order a Brand name item, I expect that's what I will receive.

From my point-of-view, the product and shipping price did not reflect a change from Culligan "Brand" filters to the generic substitutes.

Everpure H-300 Replacement Upgrade Cartridge CA Ware MAF-13-PLR-EP Review

I bought this because I've been buying Everpure H-300 cartridges for 10 years now, and they're pricey and don't last very long. When I saw this unit, rated to last 10X longer, with superior flow, it seemed like a no-brainer to try it out. I've been using it for about a week and a half, and it is definitely true that the flow is better - it takes far less time to fill up a gallon pot than with the Everpure. It's easy to install and fits perfectly. It's narrower in diameter, and much lighter.

It seemed to me, though, that the taste of the water was a bit weird. Not just different than the Everpure, but somehow less tasty. Like maybe I'm tasting more of the stuff that the filter is supposed to be getting rid of. Yesterday I noticed that there were tiny white flecks at the bottom of my glass, approximately the size of grains of sand, that I had been mistakenly thinking were minute bubbles. Except that bubbles don't settle in a little pile at the bottom of your glass. I've noticed that happening now for two days, and am not sure if that's something that just started, or whether it was happening all along and I just didn't notice until yesterday. Either way, that's obviously unacceptable.

The unit is installed correctly, so this is not user error. The flecks are not coming out of the other faucets in the house, so it's not that, either. When I pointed the flecks out to my wife, she told me that she wasn't terribly surprised because the water had tasted funny since we started using this filter (we hadn't discussed it at all, and she had come to the same conclusion independently). I don't know if the slightly less-than-pleasant taste and the white flecks are related, but that's definitely not what I'm buying water filters for. I'm back on Amazon to buy another Everpure H-300, even though they cost more, last 10X less, and have a mediocre flow rate. At least the water tastes good and there are no chunks in it. For me, since I'm not analyzing my filtered water in any scientific way, my choice of filters is about faith in the product. I just don't have that with this one.

Aquarium II - 7 Stage RO/DI Water Filtration System (100 GPD) Review

Installation of the filter was very easy. All I needed other than the items supplied was some teflon tape. I did however, install a threeway that I purchased at home depot on my water line so that I did not have to use the line piercing tap that is supplied because my water lines have a layer of braided stainless steel on the outside. I installed the filter under my bathroom sink as this filter is for a hydroponic garden and salt water fish tank. Takes around 12-13 hours to fill my 40 gallon fish tank but I have the flow rerstricted producing around 1 gallon for every 4 gallons of waste water. This way there is plenty of water to wash away waste and hopefully prolong the life of the RO filter. Filter produces 0 PPM water at 6.1 PH from my tap water that is normally around 400-500 PPM at well over 7 PH. Very happy with this product and would reccommend it to others. Only issue I had was with the shipping of the product, I was very upset it took over a week for my filter to leave the manufactuerer. However, it arrived only three days after leaving the manufacturer and well within the estimated delivery date.
