I called Omni Filter customer service today. I had trouble replacing my filter. Good thing I called. DUH. you are supposed to turn off the cold water first and use the purge button Oblue button on top of unit. Yes I was on hold for a while. BUT then again..they stayed on the phone the entire time I figured out where and how to shut the water off and drain the pipes. YES the instructions INSIDE the filter tell you to shut the water off..BUT we tried before we opened the filter. Helpful hints. Do not over tighten filter. Get a bucket of water before you shut it off. You will want to clean out the unit. Use some silcone grease on the o ring.

The filters work great. The unit has a plastic wrench (sold here on AmazonR if you misplace yours. So to change, fill a bucket with water. Put something under unit Ebucket, pan or towel. Purge water by drpessing button on top for ten seconds. Move wrench to the left (leftie loosie). Pull out old cartridge. Clean the inside of unit. add some silicone grease to Oring, put together.
