LG Electronics ABN73019101 Water Filter Bypass Plug Review

So we just got a brand new LG fridge. After several months, our ice maker produced less than half the ice and the water spout was flowing less than half the rate. We thought maybe the pump or ice maker was going bad so we called LG for warranty repair. Service guy comes and says it's the water filter. Really? I didn't believe him because the LG water filter said it will last about a year. Anyways, he told me to get a new water filter, which isn't readily available (had to order through Amazon and even with prime I had to wait two days. During this waiting period I went to my appliance dealer and complained of the situation. Surprisingly, he gave me this bypass plug which basically plugs into the socket where the filter would go. Theory would have that if it is the filter, the water and ice rate should return to normal if the dirty filter was bypassed. Sure enough the water was flowing like a fire hose and the ice making was enough to slow global warming. I am disappointed that the LG repairman did not have such a effective and inexpensive tool with him. It's nice to know this exist because I don't need to constantly keep replacing the expensive LG filters anymore since my house's water is already filtered and soften. Awesome.

Bottom line is that if your house is receiving water from the pristine glaciers and filtered through nature, then bypass your expensive LG filters and get this bypass plug immediately!
