Most ice maker hoses are 1/4" and the old filter in this model came with 3/8" insert holes ... the needed adapter was easy to find and worked well. But, when it came time to change the filter, and I reordered 2 more, the new ones came with 1/2" holes instead of 3/8" ... the installed adapter no longer fits and a trip to the hardware store was a waste since 1/4" to 1/2" adapters are special order... it was cheaper to buy a new filter system...
