AquaCera® ceramic elements all start with the CerasylTM, a silver impregnated ceramic microfilter. AquaCera CeraGrav LP-5 Replacement Ceramic Candle Filter Review

I bought one of these when I bought the CeraGrav LP-5 Gravity Filter system; it was on Amazon's 'buy together' recommendation, and I thought it'd be nice for a backup. Because of the slowness of the filters, I ended up using this with the two that came with the filter.

This 'replacement' filter comes in a plain white box, with a sticker stating it's a replacement filter. It's whiter than the Doulton's that came with the filter system, and, unlike them (which state they're "Made In England"), these have no text on the pipe end. The washers and plastic seem a bit smaller, but it could be my imagination. The official Doulton filters came in a box listing all the things they filter as well as their model; these don't: I'm not even sure they're 'supersterasyl' ones (beyond the seller stating they are). I don't know if the differences are merely cosmetic, but I'm less than enthused about not knowing what I'm actually buying, especially when it comes to something this important.

Update: After a month of use, I haven't had any issues --- I haven't gotten sick off the pond water I've been dumping into my cistern, at any rate.
