I found this very easy to attach and remove, which I do a lot due to using a portable washer that shares the sink connection.
I've read of people having issues with the plastic threaded connection but no problems here. Maybe it's been resolved by Brita in newer shipments.

Very easy to use, and does a really good job taking that chlorine and impure taste out of the tap water. I can't tell the difference between the filtered water and bottled. The color indicator telling you when the filter's nearing replacement time is appreciated as well.

DuPont WFDW120009W Universal Drinking Water Filtration System Review

I wanted a carbon block filter. I have access to water from tap, bottled, RO and carbon block systems and for my needs at home, the carbon block is the best solution. I got this and installed it directly on the cold tap at the kitchen sink (no second drinking water spigot). It cuts the flow slightly, but it's much faster than a refrigerator filter. We still have full flow for hot water which is what we'd typically use for high-volume dish washing and so on.

I rate this down one star because the system comes with a 20001 cartridge which is not my choice. I had to buy a 70001 cartridge separately and I don't have a use for the 20001. I would prefer a choice when I purchased the system or to have them unbundled.

I recommend the 70001 cartridge for this housing. This is the best carbon block cartridge for the Dupont 10" filter housing. This one has NSF/ANSI rated health effects that are superior to the 20001 or 40001 models for example. All of the carbon block cartridges work the same way and offer some improvement, but only this 70001 is actually rated to remove more than odor/taste, and particulates. It is rated by the NSF/ANSI standard 53 to remove lead, atrazine, lindane, as well as cysts, bacteria and viruses.

Check your water company's federally-mandated Consumer Confidence Report (CCR). It will indicate any violations of EPA standards. The most common violation for my water company is the presence of coliform bacteria. These are usually harmless bacteria, but they present because they're easy to culture. However, they indicate a greater chance of the presence of some harmful bacteria. In my semi-rural area, the source is usually livestock waste. The water company addresses that issue, and this filter will help if they ever miss their goal.

My water company does the heavy-lifting to deliver my household drinkable water from a tested well. I don't need expensive and highly inefficient RO that removes any taste from the water, after which you have to add minerals back in and so on. This carbon block cartridge does what I need better than RO, and for considerably less upfront and recurring costs.

Water Filter - Multipure CBVOCSC Countertop Water Filter Review

(I would give this 4.5 stars if I could, since the negatives are minor.) I've had this for a couple of weeks now, and here's my experience so far:

Pluses: It was fairly easy to install, and the installation seems robust - no leakages, which was our main issue with a faucet-mount filter we had tried earlier. Looks good, I like the stainless steel better than some of the plastic casings I saw before I bought this one. The water tastes really good. I can only assume that the filter is removing the nasty stuff it claims to remove, if it is there in my tap water in the first place. The main reason I filter my tap water is to get rid of the Chlorine taste, I'm not as paranoid about tap water as some people are. I am glad to get rid of my "Pur" pitcher which I now fear has been a source of BPA all these years :-). It's nice to have on-demand filtered water instead of having to fill the pitcher and wait for the water to trickle down (since it's of course inevitable that you'll find the pitcher empty just when you have a desperate need for water, and the filter would have just started slowing down too!).

Minuses - I wish the flexible pipe was a little longer, so I could position the filter further away from the sink. As it is, it sits about a foot away from the edge of my sink so it could still get splashed. This won't affect the water of course, it just means I'll have to wipe the shiny stainless steel casing down more frequently.
It would have been nice if the attachment to the faucet was designed to be easily removed and re-attached. That way I could remove it and put it away when the cleaning lady is at work, or if I'm concerned that some visitor is going to make a mistake with the switch and run hot water through the filter. Because that's what I live in fear of - someone running hot water and destroying the filter before its time is up.

In spite of the above (minor) quibbles, I would recommend this filter to anyone who does not have the ability to install an under-sink filter. A HUGE improvement over the Brita/Pur type faucet-mount or pitcher-type filters.

For the last few years I have been hooked on those flavored water beverages. I would buy them at my local bulk seller and would drink all of them down in about a week or two. Now, knowing that this was a pricey habit I tried to find another way to get flavored water on the cheap. I tried putting lime juice in my water, it was good but did not have a great taste that I was looking for, I also tried adding some of those sugar free syrups to my water but that effort was fruitless as well. When I was at home one evening I came across the Pur Flavor Pitcher and it all came together. This thing is great it was on sale at my local super market and picked one up for little green. The included flavor, raspberry, is really good, but my favorite is the peach flavor. What is great about this product is that you can adjust the amount of flavor your beverage has so if you feel like sipping a fresh raspberry you can, but I find that just one squirt is just fine. The water by itself is also quite crisp and refreshing compared to my local water that tastes metallic. If this seems worthless, please second guess yourself because it really isn't. It is a cheap, easy, and delicious way to enjoy an ice cold glass of flavored water without spend a ton on those bottled flavor waters.

Watts 543700 3-Stage Filter Pure with EZ Push-Button Sediment, Carbon and Hollow Fiber Cartridges Review

Great filter... there is no question the filters themselves are great. Very happy with them. HOWEVER, they come with plastic connector adaptors that allow you to tap into your under sink cold water supply which are complete waste of time. The core adaptor is plastic and interestingly enough they provided brass/metal 3/8" adaptors. Whether you use the adaptors or not, you will FAIL to connect to your water supply unless maybe your house has really, really, really terrible water pressure. Even then, I'm not sure you are going to get this to work. It is a complete waste of time. Rather than return the filter product altogether, I ended up buying another $10 metal connector part off of a water filter supply website (couldn't find it on Amazon). Like I said, water filter is GREAT. Just do yourself a favor and don't even both to think you'll be lucky and somehow get that plastic connector to work. BTW, I noticed on the other web site that I ordered the metal connector adaptor that they had the plastic adaptor that comes with this kit on there as well. There were a total of 9 reviews for the product on that site for the plastic adaptor connector and they were all "1"s out of "5." Everyone complained that the plastic connector leaked.

20" Big Blue 5M Sediment Filter Pleated Review

If you don't want to be tasting and smelling rubber from the day you put this filter in use and I would avoid this filter. Based on the first user review I tried this filter even though we don't have iron in our water but it appeared to be a good filter... I would stick with traditional filters also listed on Amazon over this. I used this filter for five days and knew it was not going to work... I bought the other filter I used previously and after one day of use the rubber smell/taste went away ( as you can see on this filter it has rubber on both ends and right when I took it out of the package I could smell a strong rubber smell). After I installed this one my family started complaining about the water tasting bad and smelling bad, I thought/hoped it might go away so I left it in for a couple more days but it was clear after five days nothing had changed so I ordered the traditional spun 5 micron filter and waited for a couple more days till it came and installed it. Finally our water was back to normal.

iSpring WCC31 3-Stage Undercounter Water Filter System Review

I installed it in the basement below the kitchen sink. Do to the large amount of water that will be spilt when changing the filters, I highly recommend putting any water filter in a location that can get very wet or flooded. Or have a tub under it at all time do to leaks that happens with water filters do to cheap plastic parts. Speaking of which, I have tried several time to stop leaks from the two soft plastic 90 deg fitting. This is the kind of thing I do for a living so rest assure I tried every trick I had to stop the leaks. The fix will be the replacement fitting I ordered.

The metal bracket that you can see that holds all together is very flimsy. When you bump the unit the bracket flexes and bobbles around. This should be about 3 times thicker steel to be allowed on the market. The 1/4" hose provided is a very short peace of scrap hose. I needed to buy more hose along with copper pipe and fitting and a brass bushing...about $50 more. Then do some cutting and soldering of pipes to supply water.
ALL these problems are typical with most systems on the market. All we can do is deal with it and make it better/usable. Otherwise you will need to get a high end commercial or marine grade system. Then again they probably have quirks of there own too.
