This Pentek 160166 BBFS-22 1" #20 Big Blue two-housing filter system is suitable for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. It consists of two polypropylene housings mounted in series on a white powder-coated carbon steel wall-mounting bracket. Each housing has a reinforced polypropylene cap with two 1" female National Pipe Thread Taper (NPT) threaded connections and a nitrile butadiene rubber (Buna-N) O-ring to ensure a watertight seal. A pressure-relief button on the inlet side relieves housing pressure during cartridge changes. Depending on the filter cartridges (sold separately) used, this system can provide filtration for residential drinking water purification, commercial deionization and coalescing, and industrial processes such as plating, organic reduction, and circulating baths. This product is ok for what it is, but lack of directions, and missing wrench are very annoying. This product cannot be used without a filter wrench (you can buy a cheap one for a couple bucks, or a solid metal one for about $30). Unfortunately it does not say this in the description, and there are no instructions, so it was trial and error. Install it as is, and it leaks like a sieve; and even after getting the wrench there are no instruction saying how tight it has to be, so you are left to guess.

Otherwise the concept is good, construction is solid enough, and its a very standard sized filter, so you can get lots of different types of cartridges to suit you tastes. How effective the filtration is will depend upon the cartridges, so I won't comment on this.
