I liked everything about this tank except for the price. So I searched high and low, far and wide, off and on for about a year, but I was not able to find another tank with volume above 200 gallons that would fit through a 29" wide residential doorway at a better price than this tank. So I bought two. I was going to give this tank four stars because of the price, but if nobody else can make it more affordable, then it costs what it costs. Custom-manufactured HDPE with very thick walls sufficient to support a ton of water is not inexpensive.

Almost had to temporarily remove a section of overhead duct chase in front of the door to the basement because when I measured I did not take into account the fact that the tank would have to be tipped off vertical to pass under the top of the doorway. So factor that into your planning. Water weighs about 8 pounds per gallon, so full, these tanks weigh over a ton and need to be on a very substantial floor, such as concrete, which is why I put them in the basement.

I love the fact that I now have 550 gallons of pure, potable water stored in about half the floor space that four 55-gallon drums used to occupy. Half the floorspace, and over twice the volume. The top hand hole is large enough to reach your arm in with a garden hose for clean out, and the second spout above the floor makes drawing water from the tank easy. The tank and valves are all top quality materials that will last many years. Highly recommended.
